A suggestion to try is whiskey cake, pretty much like rum cake, but with whiskey instead, a very moist cake, too. I just pick and choose what I like from each one and combine it together to get the flavour I want. Sometimes I add things none of the recipes call for, so I suppose the answer is yes and no.
